What is neo?

NEO reduces architectural control to its purest form: a single, discreet dot on the wall. Available flush to the surface, it can be placed freely and composed in unique constellations.

What customization options are available?

PLH controls can be customized to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of any project. Laser engraving can be applied to the buttons — either before or after surface treatments — to incorporate symbols, text, or custom icons.

Upon request, PLH can also develop custom versions of Neo, modifying its shape, dimensions, materials, finishes, and surface treatments. For specific requirements or custom projects, contact us at info@plhusa.com: our team will be happy to evaluate the solution best suited to your project.

On which installation boxes can Neo be mounted?

PLH Neo is designed to be installed using a dedicated, patented box, developed to ensure precise installation and seamless integration with the wall. The system is compatible with installations on masonry, drywall, or a combination of both. Thanks to a special spring system, Neo can also be installed directly on wooden walls.

Register below to download the installation instructions and view all the system’s technical specifications.

How many functions does Neo offer?

PLH Neo is available in two versions, each designed for different control requirements.

The 1/32″ profile version (approximately 0.04″) features a single Push function, with an IP67 protection rating and support for systems up to 24 V. It is the ideal choice for projects that require a clean, minimalist aesthetic combined with exceptional durability.

The 3/8″ profile version (approximately 0.39″) offers three control functions: Click, Rotate Clockwise, and Rotate Counterclockwise, both with spring return. This version is rated IP20 and is designed for 5 V control systems.

Can Neo be backlit?

Yes. Upon request, PLH Neo can be equipped with integrated RGBW LED backlighting featuring a common anode (positive common) configuration. The LEDs evenly illuminate the polycarbonate ring surrounding the control, creating a refined glow effect that remains clearly visible even in daylight.

The backlighting operates on a 5–35 VDC power supply and is designed for easy integration with leading control platforms. Systems such as Crestron can drive the LEDs directly, allowing full control of color, brightness, and lighting effects as part of the overall automation system.

Which control systems is Neo compatible with?

PLH Neo is a low-voltage architectural control interface designed for Class 2 control systems. Available in single- and three-function configurations, it operates as a momentary dry-contact control, making it compatible with virtually any automation or lighting platform that supports contact-closure inputs.

Neo integrates seamlessly with leading control systems including Control4, Crestron, Lutron HomeWorks® QSX, Loxone, Savant, Vantage, Dynalite, and many others through the appropriate dry-contact interface.

Some commonly used interface modules include:

  • Control4 – C4-DCIM4
  • Crestron – C2N-UNI8IO
  • Lutron HomeWorks® QS – QSE-CI-WCI
  • Loxone
  • Savant
  • Vantage
  • Dynalite

If you are unsure whether Neo is compatible with your control system, contact our technical team. We’ll be happy to recommend the most suitable integration solution for your project.

Is Neo available in a wireless version?

Yes. Upon request, PLH Neo can be configured as a wireless control interface compatible with Casambi technology.

This solution enables seamless integration with Casambi-enabled lighting systems, offering the flexibility of wireless control without compromising the refined aesthetics and premium materials that define the PLH collection. It is an ideal option for both new installations and retrofit projects where wired control may not be practical.

Is Neo UL listed?

PLH Neo is a low-voltage architectural control interface designed for Class 2 systems operating below 24 VDC.

The product is assembled using UL Recognized components, including switches, LEDs, and plastic materials where applicable, and complies with applicable European regulations and CE requirements.

At this time, Neo is not UL Listed as a complete assembled product. If your project has specific certification or compliance requirements, our technical team will be happy to assist in evaluating the most suitable solution for your application.

What materials are Neo controls made from?

PLH Neo controls are manufactured from premium solid materials, including brass, 6082 aluminum, and 316L stainless steel, selected for their durability, precision, and refined appearance.

Each component is CNC machined from solid stock using high-precision turning processes, ensuring exceptional dimensional accuracy and a flawless surface finish. Every control is manufactured entirely in Italy, combining advanced engineering with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define Italian design.

How can I purchase PLH lighting controls?

To ensure proper system configuration, PLH lighting controls are supplied through the system integrator involved in the project. If the integrator has not yet worked with PLH, they must register an account via the “Contact Us” page. Once approved, they can access the partner portal to request quotes and generate technical project documentation.

PLH also works directly with architects, interior designers, and lighting designers to define every detail of the faceplates and control units, ensuring seamless integration with the design concept.

For private individuals interested in using PLH control systems, we recommend asking your installer, integrator, or design team to contact us directly so you can receive the technical support needed to develop your project.

Where are PLH products designed and manufactured?

All PLH products are designed, engineered, and manufactured entirely in Italy, at our facility in Milan — a city internationally recognized as one of the leading centers of design.

Each collection is the result of a combination of research, innovation, and manufacturing expertise, and is crafted with great attention to detail, using high-quality materials and production processes that reflect the excellence of Made in Italy.

Why is it called PLH?

The name PLH comes from a simple play on letters. When pronounced in Italian as a single word, the initials “P-L-H” evoke the term placca, the element that defines and enhances our lighting control systems.
